NCP® Introduces 4GB miniSDHC Flash Card

Singapore, March 10, 2008 – Hexon Media Pte Ltd, Singapore’s leading manufacturer of flash memory and media accessories, today introduced , 4GB miniSD High Capacity (SDHC) card at the Cebit Hannover exhibition, where the company exhibited in Hall 19, booth no. D18-07.

NCP 4GB miniSDHC Card is capable of providing faster speed and larger capacity to support the increasingly storage-intensive applications such as digital imaging, music and video applications. In this new generation, users are now using their phone as their camera, video player, gaming and music devices.

A 4GB miniSDHC card can store more than 1,000 digital songs or more than 1,200 high-resolution pictures or up to 19 hours of MPEG 4 video.

SDHC is the new format for any SD or SD based card that is larger than 2GB and adheres to the new SD 2.00 specification that is required for cards and hosts to support 4GB to 32GB capacities. The specifications were developed by the SD Association, an international standards board, which also defined three speed classes for speed and performance capabilities. NCP’s miniSDHC cards use new speed class ratings known as Class 4 and 6 that guarantee a minimum data transfer rate (specified by SDA) for optimum performance with devices that use miniSDHC storage cards.

Each NCP package includes a SD adapter hence it can be used as full size SDHC cards. Standard miniSD and miniSDHC cards look similar in size and shape, only SDHC-compatible products will be able to accept the new miniSDHC cards.

NCP 4GB miniSDHC cards will be available in March 2008.
